It's that time of year.
For many of us, bathing suit season is right around the corner.
Like many of you, I hate to buy bathing suits and tend to sticks with the same one for years and years.
Wait, now I realize why my mother had one bathing suit the entire time I was growing up.
Anyway, when I buy bathing suits, I tend to get them from Lands' End because they last so long, and there's a variety of styles for different body types.
I think the expiration is up on my current bathing suits (cannot get one more year out of them), so when Lands' End offered to send me a bathing suit to try out, I jumped at the chance.
I selected this one because it professes to be a "slender suit" that makes you look one size smaller, and I'll take what I can get.
When it arrived, I was a little skeptical since it appeared to have elastic contraptions everywhere and seemed a little heavy, but my fears were gone when I put it on.
Boy, it is solid and it looks great, I love it. I have no idea if I look one size smaller or not, but as far as me in a bathing suit goes, I'm very pleased.
Don't believe me?
Here's a chance to try one out for yourself, Land's End is offering a chance for you, dear reader to win a $100 gift card to Lands' End to get your own suit.
Just leave me a comment before 11:59 pm CST on Friday, May 9, 2008 and I'll choose a winner on Saturday, May 10th, 2008.
In the meantime, check out Land's End's swimwear and pick out your favorite suit!

Boy, could I use one of those "slender suits." I am going on a family vacation in June and was considering purchasing one of these...

Hmm, wonder if my luck will hold again?
I used the search by anxiety area feature (nice) and think this might be for me:

There were a couple of others as well, thanks for the link!

If I had a million dollars...oh, I mean a hundred Lands End dollars, I would buy the Women's All-Over Control Twisted V-neck Solid Swim Dress as a birthday present for myself. It would be great psychological armor for the beach trip with my in-laws next month.

Love the Lands End suits and shop obsessively for them from about March on...I'm liking the Isola Collection this year...but they all look good! Thanks, BusyMom! Glad you got one you like.

Hi! I've never bought a swim suit from Lands End. I've always bought my suits that specialize in "long torsos." But I need a good suit. Last year I did the redneck thing: shorts and a t-shirt! So pick me! Even the fish were shocked at my outfit! (Their mouths gaped open!)

I love Lands' End suits. They've really done their research on the post-baby body that a lot of us are dealing with. I went with a tankini last time, but I like the one that you picked out as well. Very flattering!

Oooooh Ooooohh...(raising hand in the air) MisterKotter, Mister Kotter!:)
Would love to have a new suit for camp--every year I volunteer at a camp for pediatric cancer patients and their siblings and every year, I try to find a suit to cover the right parts and still allow me to play in the pool with the kids. I usually only find horrid prints in the speedo style.

I've been drooling over the LE catalog of swimsuits ever since it came last month. I desperately need a new one that doesn't scream 'fat mom'. I love the red and white print, and one size smaller? That would be a miracle!

Wow - that's a great suit! I need a "slender suit" but I bet that one wouldn't even look good on me.
I do love Land's End, though, and I could find a suit I could live with.
Your blogs are great - keep it up!!

How do you pick the winner? Is it random? Or do you take bribes? If I dont win, I guess I'll just cry into my KLEENAX!!!!

There is a perfectly good bathing suit in my bureau drawer, but as it's a size 9, I haven't been able to wear it for a while. Actually, I think the rubber in the cups is shredding all over my granny panties. I hope that's what those little things are, anyway.
From string bikini, to one-piece, to HUGE one-piece, to muumuu. . . time sure flies, huh.
I LOVE Land's End.
You're not laughing because I owned a bathing suit with CUPS, are you? Yes, you are!

I have been drooling over the Land's End suits for several weeks now- they look like they might actually fit, be comfortable, and cover all the necessary parts at the same time. I haven't found a suit in my town yet that will fit me well! I would love to win the gift card, there is no way I can spend that much money on a suit (darn budget) and I am supposed to go to the beach in June. I love your blog, if that helps!

Oh I could really use a new suit as I no longer have an excuse to wear my FABULOUS maternity suit. With a 4 year old, 2 year old and 1 year old I happily not pregnant this summer and need a new look that will be suitable for chasing my non-swimmers around the kiddie pool.

I love Lands End suits. I actually bought that same exact one last year and loved it. I had my daughter last May, and that was that only suit that my post-partum belly didn't look awful in. It was super comfortable and as an added bonus was easy to nurse in. Anyway, I'd love to be able to buy a new one this year!

I love the Busy Blogs and swimming. I'm glad my new FIOS gave me the opportunity to go "Busy Blog surfing" just before the end of this Lands End swimsuit card contest:-) I'm embarrassed to admit how old the swimsuit that have been getting by with is, and given the price of gas and groceries it may have to be the Energizer Bunny of swimwear.

And I noticed that the info on Busy D there needs to be updated.
