Hear that?
That's the sound of the weekend sucking.
Busy Dad is really sick, and, though he should have gone to the doctor days ago I'm sorry he feels bad, but, it's been a total pain in the ass.
He's got an ear infection, and, it must be pretty bad. He's not getting any better, either.
Busy Girl has been gone all weekend, and, there's a ton of work to be done around here for a party she's having on Friday.
It's not stuff that the kids can do, it's heavy duty chores that aren't getting done because he's been in the bed since Friday.
So, I have had all the yard work and entertaining the boys duty.
I had to fulfill a long promised trip to the CleavageRenaissance Festival, and, all I have to say is there's a fine line between, "Wow, you really look festive", and, "Wow, you really worry me."
Those of you who have been to one of those know of what I speak.
I like the first 20 minutes or so of those things, and, beyond that, it's my personal purgatory.
I love my sons, but, holy honkers, I will die happy if I never have to talk about the nuances of swords, and, daggers ever again.
It's 10pm, and, I kid you not, we are still rehashing the moment of purchase of Busy Boy's new dagger.
I pulled something in my calf on my first day of my second week of the Couch to 5K (if you do this, you really ought to get the podcasts for it here, they rock).
iPods make all the difference in the world with this exercise nonsense.
Speaking of iPods, I also submit that "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth" is the best song in the world.
I fully expect that Katherine will be the only person to agree with me.
But, that won't matter in the morning because I won't be able to straighten up from bailing out the dog damned pool.
Long story, but, cleaning the pool is an intricate process involving much manual labor.
Don't be impressed, it's actually a monster-assed kiddie pool, but, it has to be chlorinated, and, filtered, and, stuff.
My dad up and decided we're going to the cemetery at 8 in the morning being that it's Memorial Day and all.
We're usually not big cemetery go-ers, but, since we've had 3 entries in 8 months, I guess we get to collect a prize or something.
Buh.
I'm even boring myself to death here.

Got to visit your place of work this afternoon. Lance Armstrong oops, I mean DH went down hard in the crit portion of the stage race he was competing in--right at the corner of the Hard Rock. Broke his rt clavicle. Maybe I should have brought him by. He and Busy Dad could have hung out while I helped with the chores. LOL
Oh geez, I went to the Cleavage Festival as well and yikes, strange crowd there. It's one of those things that now that I've gone once, I don't care to revisit.
I didn't know Couch to 5K had podcasts!! I did that program a few years ago but fell off the wagon and need to do again. I'll check into the podcasts though.
Sounds about as exciting as my weekend. And yes, sick husbands are more of a pain in the ass than sick children.
It doesn't sound like a FUN weekend at all. Men are awful when they're sick and won't go to the doctor. Mine tells me over and over exactly what symptoms he has and how terrible he's feeling. I hope all the chores get done somehow. Do you have any neighbors or friends you can enlist to help?
I wasn't bored. I was quite entertained and amused. Sorry about your suckish weekend though. Hope Busy Dad is better soon.
Cool Running worked great for me. I'm still doing it, so good on ya' mate!
Didn't know about the podcasts though.
wow. apparantly even your 'boring' stuff is entertaining.
Y'know, I don't feel any sort of loss because I've never experienced the Renaissance Festival. Nothing about that even remotely interests me.
I could do without a sick spouse forevah.
My weekend ended up majorly disappointing when it had really high hopes. Eh well. Someday I'll have a life, right?
"I'm even boring myself to death here." Zounds. You took the words right out of my mouth.
We have the plague too!
Best wishes
Wow. No wonder you are the busy mom.
Oh well I'm so sorry he's sick. I hope he's able to get better soon and help out with some of the chores.
Heyya, I just stumbled on your blog and I wanted to say I love your graphics. Sorry to hear your hubby is sick that's never fun - for them or for us lol men whine a LOT :)
Have had the sad and unique experience of actually dating someone who was an "actor" at Renaissance festivals...Gasp. I've never said that out loud before now.
Hope your Hubs is on the mend soon. Solo yard work is absolutely no fun.
I glad to see that my boy is not the only one who goes on and on and on about any one subject until I want to poke my ears with hot pokers just to get away from the pain.
My hub started the couch to 5k a few years ago (he had never exercised before that and he weighed 330lbs) He DID it and then weight watchers. I was impressed with his determination. he lost 100lbs. Me I like the couch.
Anything By Meatloaf Rocks - in my personal opinion.
Hope Busy Dad is Better Soon or at least goes to the dr. today!
What? No picture of the sword? Or Dagger? Or cleavage????
Renn-Fest is a blast, ours is in October or so. It's either hotter than hell, or rainy and muddy. Either way the swords, daggers, and cleavage wind up getting wet. Maybe it's a guy thing to enjoy these things, dunno.
Meat Loaf rocks. And the C25K got me started and off the couch (hopefully for good)
Not bored in the slightest, here...
Food Poisoning. I lost 7 pounds in 3 days.
I don't know if it's the best song ever, but it is Meatloaf's best one.
